Jaws & Claws

This bear is working hard to snag another salmon from Brooks River in Katmai National Park and Preserve. As a photographer, it is always the dream to capture that image of the bear on the lip of the falls, the bear's jaw open, the salmon centimeters from capture... but I love finding new creative ways to put my spin on Brooks Falls and the bears as they fill up for their winter slumber. This bear decided to utilize a similar technique as the bears on the lip of the waterfall, but from below the falls. It was entertaining watching him try and pop out of the water to snag his supper.
