Frozen Lake

While driving through Cantwell, Alaska, I came across a rare scene—a wind-swept lake with its icy surface exposed, perfectly reflecting the mountains above. I couldn’t resist. I hiked down through knee-deep snow and dense brush, only to catch a stick to the nose, sparking a nosebleed. With one hand on my nose and the other gripping my camera and tripod, I carefully stepped onto the ice, drawn toward a series of cracks leading to the perfect frame. I captured the shot just before the sun disappeared. Cold temperatures and nosebleed equals a mess!
