Four Bears One Fish

On the busy days at Brooks Falls in Katmai National Park and Preserve, I stay clear of the falls platform and check out the other less-utilized platforms. I love finding new angles. Just like with all wildlife, you never know when a bear will come or leave, or catch a salmon. I waited on this platform for about two hours before the salmon started jumping and bears piled in. I loved watching the salmon leap from this perspective. It can be so deceiving from the falls platform. Each of these bears looks willing to almost leap at the salmon at any second. They look starved and ready to taste it. They need all the salmon they can catch going into hibernation.
