Thirsty Moose

A dream came true on the final leg of my 2013 Denali trip. We spotted a bull moose in rut and moved into position, calling softly to catch his interest. He responded, strutting closer with antlers swaying. I spotted a small pond and hoped he’d head for the water—and he did. Pausing perfectly at the edge, he looked across at me, unknowingly becoming the exact image I had hoped to capture.
